I promised you some reviews, so I'll review what I can while I'm still here on vacation in Michigan. Back in July I ordered these Vivid Pop Sticks in 4 colors, and I loved them so much I bought them in a fifth! I photographed this before I received the last one though, so forgive me for omitting it.
I bought mine from Tester Korea for 7500 Won (~$6.99 USD)
The following swatches are of 2, 5, 7, and 4 (see below for the official swatches)
Not sure why I didn't put these in order, haha...the swatches are 2 This Love, 5 Teenage Dream, 7 California Girl, and 4 Pop Stick Baby from left to right.
- Highly pigmented
- Matte finish
- Doesn't smudge
- Lots of product!
- True to color
- Not overly drying
- Works very well under lip gloss (no smudging)
- Wide stick = less precision in the cupid's bow
- May be too dry feeling for some
After feeling let down by the Color Pop! Tints I was hesitant to try another product from this collection that also claimed to be vibrant and true to color. Thankfully Etude House didn't let me down--they are #1 for lipsticks in my opinion! This bar style lip product is basically a lipstick in a twist up tube. I was hoping that's how the formula would be and I wasn't disappointed. These are very matte colors and very true to swatch with the exception of #5 Teenage Dream. To be honest I was really sad that this was the one that didn't show up true to color because it was the one I wanted more than anything! That said, #5 makes a great base color for the orange range of Color Pop! Tints. It's also a great base color for orange-sunset gradient ulzzang lips if you add in some Etude House Dear Darling Lip Tint Gloss. The formula is a little bit dry feeling; if you have sensitive skin on your lips I suggest moisturizing first with a basic lip balm. Etude House's Dear Girls Tint & Balm is a good pick and it definitely softens up the color some while adding shine. I prefer the dryness of this lipstick because it ensures that it won't slide off your lips even if you don't use a lip liner. It stays on pretty well by itself, but it will come off easier when you add gloss (as with any lip product). It also is not a tint, so you can't eat and expect it to stay on. Overall though, I love this lip stick because it comes out the color that's swatched. :) When I want a different look I try different sheer glosses over the top and it definitely looks like a whole new product. If you like highly pigmented lipsticks, I suggest this one for you.
#7 California Girl (1 swipe)
4.75/5 (docking the 0.25 because the orange wasn't as orange as I expected lol)
Already did buy again :)
